Contained within a package of awards from the defence ministry worth a combined $315 million announced by Elbit on 31 December 2012, the first deal will extend a helicopter training service first contracted in 2004. This will deliver full logistics and maintenance services on a "power by the hour" basis for a fleet of Bell 206 "Sayfan" trainers (above), plus operational-level maintenance for Bell AH-1A "Tzefa" aircraft.
A follow-on to a deal awarded in 2009, the second contract covers Elbit's provision of maintenance services for the air force's 20 Hawker Beechcraft T-6A "Efroni" trainers.
